My aim is to create empathetic objects, sculptures that are both confident and vulnerable. Hence my choice of old, ragged materials: ugly, battered wood and ninety-year-old piano sheets. With roots in collage and found object assemblage, I try to find the beauty in the forgotten, the everyday, and the unpleasant, that which has often been rode hard and put up wet.

Two of the primary influences on my work are Lee Bontecou and Jello Biafra.
